Justin Long ("Herbie: Fully Loaded") will star in "Accepted," a comedy Steve Pink is directing for Universal Pictures. The story centers on a high school senior who finds a unique way to avoid the pressure to attend college. Universal bought the spec by Mark Perez; Adam Cooper and Bill Collage have completed a rewrite. Tom Shadyac and Michael Bostick are producing.

Steve Pink will make his directorial debut on "Accepted" for Universal Pictures. The high-concept comedy centers on a teenager who finds a unique way to outsmart his parents. Adam Cooper and Bill Collage are doing a rewrite based on the original screenplay by Mark Perez. Tom Shadyac and Michael Bostick are producing.

Writer Mark Perez has had his script Accepted picked up for development by Tom Shadyac's production co. Shady Acres to be developed at Universal. Shadyack will produce with Michael Bostick. The movie will follow an underachieving high school senior who, wanting to get his parents off his back about higher education, decides to take an entrepreneurial point of view on things.
