Ed Harris and William Hurt are both in talks to appear in
David Cronenberg's adaptation of the graphic novel A History
of Violence. Harris will play the bad guy who comes looking
for Viggo Mortensen, while Hurt will portray Mortensen's long-lost
brother.

Viggo Mortensen is to star in the comic book adaptation of
John Wagner and Vince Locke's A History of Violence for director
David Cronenberg and New Line. Josh Olson has penned the screenplay
that follows an ordinary family's life after the father receives
unwanted national attention for a seemingly vigilante-style
self-defense killing at his diner.

New Line Cinema have signed up David Cronenberg to helm the
adaptation of the John Wagner graphic novel A History of Violence.
The screenplay has been written by Josh Olson and will follow
an ordinary family's life after the father receives unwanted
national attention for a seemingly vigilante self-defense
killing at his diner and his previously unknown past is dredged
up. Wagner is best knwon for being the creator of Judge Dredd
and is widely respected as one of the great comic boom writers.
Hopefully with Cronenberg at the helm his work will be done
justice, unlike the godawful Dredd movie.

called A History of Violence. The movie will centre on an
ordinary family's life after the father receives unwanted
national attention for a seemingly vigilante self-defense
killing at his diner.
