Filming has taken place in Old Town Marblehead back in April of this year and continues in Gloucester, Massachusetts. It appears that the film is set in the 1970's judging by the vars they are using in the film. There are some pics of those cars plus a sneak peek at the diner that they are using for the film over at Coming Attractions.

Upcoming Movies say that the film is loosely based on the murder of actress Rebecca Shaeffer. She was killed back in 1989 and director/ screenwriter Silberling was engaged to her at the time. The site does go on to state that the film is based on Silberlings feelings and emotions at the time and not directly to Shaeffer. Baby's In Black will be Brad Silberlings screenwriting debut after directing films like City Of Angels and Casper.

The budget for the film is around $20 million with Susan Sarandon pocketing around $6-7 million of that.
