Monday 6th December 2004 Because of Winn-Dixie Update:
Hmm Jeff Daniels, Dave Matthew making his big screen debut and a dog....really does sound like an easy swerve doesn't it. And then when I tell you it's directed by the director of the super slushy Maid In Manhattan then it's definetely on the avoid list. But if you really must go see it it's released in the US on 18th February 2005.

Friday 10th October 2003: Because of Winn-Dixie Update:
The Fanning sisters, Dakota and younger sister Elle, are both heading off to
work for 20th Century Fox. Dakota Fanning has found her way to the lead role
in Fox's Hide and Seek for director John Polson. The project will see her
star as Emily, the daughter of Robert De Niro's character, who is torn up
over the suicide of her mother. She begins to deal with her mum's death
through an imaginary friend, which winds up taking an unexpected and
terrifying turn. Meanwhile, Elle Fanning will be whistling her way into the
studio's Because of Winn-Dixie for helmer Wayne Wang. The project, currently
lensing in Louisiana, tells the story of a 10-year-old girl who moves to a
Florida town with her preacher father (Jeff Daniels). Lonely and friendless,
the girl grows close to a big, ugly, suffering dog named Winn-Dixie. Elle
Fanning plays 5-year-old Sweetie Pie Thomas.

TA has been in touch with the following "I believe that the filming at the Winn Dixie in Donaldsonville is completed. The movie is supposedly going to be between the towns of Donaldsonville, LA and Napoleonville, LA. This is because Napoleonville does not have a Winn Dixie supermarket and Donaldsonville has the closest around. The books in both towns are selling extremely rapidly!"

Thursday 2nd October 2003: Because of Winn-Dixie Update:
Sandra has just been in touch with the following "They are filming Because of Winn Dixie at the Winn Dixie in Donaldsonville. Rumor has it that George Clooney will be in it but nobody knows for sure. They started filming Friday, the 26th and then Winn Dixie was closed from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 29th and 30th."

This just in from TAteeyler "I am very excited that the film Winn-Dixie is supposed to be filmed in Louisiana. The talk in the community is that the movie is supposed to be filmed in Napoleonville (in Assumption Parish Louisiana). Napoleonville is the seat of the parish and is a somewhat small town. "
