Premise/Synopsis :
"Set in England between the wars, the story examines the frenetic but empty lives of the Bright Young Things, young people who indulge in constant party-going, heavy drinking, and promiscuous sex. Improbably, this is a love story in which Adam Fenwick-Symes, a destitute young writer, hungers for Nina Blount, daughter of an eccentric aristorcrat. But at the same time, it is a satire that plays againts the social whirl of a class doomed to extinction as certainly as the dodo" (Production Weekly).

Dan Aykroyd has been shooting scenes for the directorial debut of Stephen Fry at the Royal Institute of British Architects in London.

Thursday 7th November 2002: Bright Young Things Update:
Stephen Fry has begun filming his directorial debut. Bright Young Things stars Emily Mortimer, Stockard Channing, Hugh Laurie, Imelda Staunton and Harriet Walter. There are also cameo appearences by Dan Aykroyd, Jim Broadbent, Simon Callow, Richard E Grant, Sir John Mills and Peter O'Toole. It is an adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's Vile Bodies and tells the story of a group of wild young London party people in the late 1920s.

Stephen Fry is gearing up to write and direct British film Bright Young Things, an adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's classic 1920's novel "Vile Bodies". Production Weekly explained more about the story. "Set in England between the wars, the story examines the frenetic but empty lives of the Bright Young Things, young people who indulge in constant party-going, heavy drinking, and promiscuous sex.
