Here's the first promo image for Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain that stars Jake Glenhall and Heath Ledger. The movie is based on the novel by Annie Proulx. I sure as hell hope this adaptation of one of her novels is better than the dull The Shipping News.

Anne Hathaway being signed up as the strong willed ex-rodeo
queen wife of Jake Gyllenhall's character and Randy Quaid has
been signed up as a hard bittne foreman who hires Gyllenhaal
Heath Ledger.

8th March 2004: Brokeback Mountain Update:
Ang Lee has signed up Michelle Williams, Heath Ledger and Jake
Gyllenhaal to star in Brokeback Mountain that is being developed
at Focus Features. The script has been written by McMurtry and
Ossana from a short story by E. Annie Proulx. The movie will
follow two men who meet one summer as sheepherders in Wyoming
and form a bond and love that spans 20 years.

Ang Lee is circling a big-screen adaptation of the epic love
story Brokeback Mountain. The story, based on a short story
by E. Annie Proulx, is set against the sweeping vistas of Wyoming
and Texas and centres on two young men, a ranch hand and a rodeo
cowboy, who meet in the summer of 1961 and unexpectedly forge
a lifelong connection.
