Premise/Synopsis: story will follow Johnny Ruffiano, a sharp, Gucci-clad
NYC womanizer indebted to the murderous Toddo Bracciole,
who promised long ago to bring his Sicilian goddaughter
Carmela Bovino to NYC, and find her the "beautiful
American husband." Trying to postpone the inevitable,
Johnny instead flies to Roma and enters a b&w part
neo-realistic, part fantastic Italy, as if the entire
country and its people are frozen in the mascara-rich,
jet-black haired 1950's. Having only seen her childhood
photo, the sparks fly when Johnny discovers she's a
5'2", 250 lbs. cannoli monster with a bun in her
hair, and big mole on her cheek. For someone used to
sexy girls and shallow relationships, he's in for quite
a surprise.

6th February 2003: Carmela, From Sicily Update: Writer/Director Roy Carlo has announced he will
be making a movie called Carmela, From Sicily. The movie
is being produced by Astoria Films. The story will follow
Johnny Ruffiano, a sharp, Gucci-clad NYC womanizer indebted
to the murderous Toddo Bracciole, who promised long
ago to bring his Sicilian goddaughter Carmela Bovino
to NYC, and find her the "beautiful American husband."
Trying to postpone the inevitable, Johnny instead flies
to Roma and enters a b&w part neo-realistic, part
fantastic Italy, as if the entire country and its people
