Tuesday 6th January 2004: Coach Carter Update:
Samuel L. Jackson starrer Coach Carter has had R&B star Ashanti added to its cast. She will play Kyra, the newly pregnant girlfriend of one of the basketball players to be played by Rob Brown, who starred in Finding Forrester. Also signed on is Robert Ri'chard who will play Marcus Carter, the son of Jackson's character and one of the team's top players. Shooting is scheduled to start this month with Thomas Carter (Save the Last Dance) directing.
