Wednesday 3rd December 2003: Cold Mountain Update:
Director Anthony Minghella has been talking about Jack White's performance in Cold Mountain "Jack is fantastic in this film. You would never know he is not an actor by profession. He is an absolute natural, tremendous. We cast him in Cold Mountain because of the songs. For his role, he has to sing - that's why I got him. But then we discovered he can act too, so he sings and acts. It was beautiful, he really is a tremendous talent. He made the transition from music to acting very easily. He is a performer. That's why I'm a fan. When I've seen the White Stripes play you can see Jack has a very theatrical side to him."

Tuesday 22nd October 2002: Cold Mountain Update:
There is a detailed script review of the upcoming Nicole Kidman/ Jude Law film, Cold Mountain over at TNMC. "Honestly, this script frustrated me beyond belief. I seriously pondered whether I should stop reading it all together. Basically, I threw my hands in the air and just had to ask, 'what in the hell is going to happen here... damn it?!?' While that could be interpreted as a sign of an incredibly adhesive script, it also worked to its disadvantage in shaping my point of view. Because of that profound curiosity/frustration... and Ruby, I did press onward. It took three days of picking it up and putting it back down, but I did it".
