Alan Arkin and Barbara Dana have recreated their roles as Flagg and Ada Purdy (from A Matter of Principle) but there is no other connection with that TV film, other than being adapted from short stories by the same author. Counting Sheep is not based on A Matter of Principle and none of the other cast members was in that film.

"Counting Sheep" has a new title: "Raising Flagg". World Premier will be at the Whistler Film Festival in British Columbia on Dec 9. Other screenings are announced on the website: www.rubicon-films.com.

Friday 10th January 2003: Counting Sheep Page Launched:
Director Neal Miller has been in contact with us today advising of progress with Counting Sheep. Neal is best known for his TV Directing work and also as a producer on the Robin William's movie Bicentennial Man. Counting Sheep will star Alan Arkin (Flagg Purdy), Lauren Holly (Rachel Purdy) , Glenne Headly (Anne Marie Purdy), Barbara Dana (Ada Purdy) and Austin Pendleton (Gus Falk). The movie is based on short stories by the author of the TV movie A Matter of Principle. The movie is not a sequel to that, although the two characters Flagg Purdy and Ada Purdy featured in that movie.

Neal is currently looking at screening the movie at a Film Festival to gauge feedback for a distribution deal. The offical website will launch next week so stay tuned here for more information!
