Latest updates on Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus

Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Updated :

Thursday 30th September 2004: Daisy Scarlett update:
Robbie Williams is being sought for a possibly recurring role in Daisy Scarlett opposite Naomi Watts. His role would be MI6 Agent Farrell, a mix of Q and Moneypenny from Bond. -Moviehole

Friday 21st May 2004: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Writer/Producer Ben Trebilcook has been in touch with a statement about Jason Statham and Jet Li no longer being attached to Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus.
"Whilst in LA in late March, I was due to meet with
Current Entertainment's Steve Chasman. He's the
representative for Jason Statham and also Jet Li.
Despite extreme keen interest for my script and
obviously the role that I had penned for Jason, right
from the start. It suddenly took a different direction and the reps
thought it wasn't right for Jason. I was disappointed,
of course and I have had a few meetings with other,
similar actors since and who just want to change the
character. I get "I don't understand his backstory.
He's too mysterious." I reply with the fact that the
character of Randolph is a SAS dude. Of course he's mysterious and his backstory? Er, he goes in, does his killing or retrieval duties or whatever
and comes back out, with or without more scars. That's
his job. Anyway, now... Now, it's become incredibly
crazy. I can't say who is lined up, but they're very
talented. Respected on a richter type scale AND they
respect me and the script. As for Jet Li.. Hmm, it's
ironic that a talented artist who was attached to The
Matrix sequels was replaced by an extremely talented
artist of similar stature who could now replace that
said artist again. I've been an admirer of Mr. Chou's
work for a while. There are more Hong Kong movies on
my shelf at home than anything else. Samo, Chan,
Yuen.. Watching them makes me smile and that's what I
believe Collin can do if him and his Agents would like
to move this project along a bit more."

Monday 17th May 2004: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:

Monday 10th May 2004: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Just received word that producer Mark Thomas is no longer attached to Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus, while normally this may have been bad news for a project to lose its producer, in this case it could turn out to be a move for the better as the production is getting advoce of Jerry Bruckheimer and this is stirring up interest in the states in a big way.

Tuesday 23rd March 2004: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus had suffered delays in production due to the recent halting of the tax break loop hole in the UK. Apparently that was a good thing as the previous prospective financers had links to some Van Damme projects and knew little about producing movies. The project has since gone to a well established French Production house and all seems to be back on track.

The director of Baby Juice Express, Michael Hurst, is still very much involved in the project, though its unclear at what level. During the delay of 'Semper' he has written his first novel and developing a project for some former Baywatch beauties, which include Carmen Electra.

The UK's Production team of 'Semper', (the first in a series of movies planned for its lead character Daisy Scarlett), is expected to be produced by Ben Trebilcook, his Manager Huck Melnick and overseen by Executive Producer Mark Thomas. Internationally, Luc Besson and his US Management are still in discussion. Test shots that will feature Welsh actress and singer, Helen Shan, will be underway in early April. They will consist of Helen, doubling as Agent Daisy Scarlett, in and around Westminster, London and also contain images of 'combat' and 'angst'.

Wednesday 10th March 2004: Daisy Scarlett: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Just received word that Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus has had a title change and will now be known as Daisy Scarlett: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus. The producers are looking at developing the Daisy Scarlett character as a franchise. There should hopefully be an announcement on the casting, and as soon as we can reveal it we will!

Monday 8th March 2004: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Jennifer Aniston is now being sought for the role of corrupt FBI Agent, Josephine Mackenna, in Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus. Writer/Producer Ben Trebilcook is approaching her and Brad Pitt's Production company, Plan B, on where the project is presently at. Aniston's character would be one of two villainous roles in the spy movie. The other villain being Jason Statham.

Thursday 26th February 2004: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Rumours are circulating that after Roger Moore passed on a role in Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus that the producers are looking at Timothy Dalton for a role.

Friday 20th February 2004: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Word reaches us that Luc Besson is possibly looking to re-start his directorial career, after spending the last few years concentrating on writing and producing. The project he is thought to be looking at is spy thriller Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus. Besson is repped by the same team behind Jason Statham, Corey Yuen and Jet Li. It's uncertain where this leaves director Mike Hurst.

Monday 19th January 2004: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Well, we hinted at this news last week when we said that a certain eastern action star was in talks to star in Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus, well after digging further into the story to see how much truth there was in it, we can exclusively reveal that the star in question is Jet Li. The role he is in taks for is Michael Wong, who will be chased by SAS Commando 'Randolph' to retrieve his healthy heart.

Monday 12th January 2004: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Hot casting rumour on Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus today. Work continues on apace to bring this female James Bond character to the screen and word reaches from a source very close to the project that Charlize Theron and Rachel Weisz are being considered for big roles in the movie. There is also a big name far eastern star being considered for a role also but this is still to be confirmed.

Wednesday 10th December 2003: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Screenwriter Ben Trebilcook has confirmed that Madonna is in talks to appear in this spy movie and that Jason Stratham is also interested. Both would be villains.

Monday 27th October 2003: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Director Michael Hurst and
Writer/Producer Ben Trebilcook have said they'd like
UK Pop Idol Contestant Susanne Manning to sing a title
track to their movie. "She'll be a hot new singing
star and it'll be great to have her accompany a movie
that will feature a hot new action star." Says Hurst.
"An action chick that'll kick Lara Croft back to the
computer game world where she belongs." Continued
Trebilcook.

Trebilcook: "Despite the part of Daisy written for
her, we're still waiting on Kelly's confirmation and
availability. We won't disclose who, but there are
other actresses in the waiting, who are extremely
hungry for this role, however I'm a very patient guy
and believe I wrote the part for the right girl. I can
wait."

Hurst: "It's being dubbed as a 'female' James Bond.
Ben's 3 word champion of a pitch. Obviously we don't
have the same budget as what Bond receives. Ben's said
it's more Bourne Identity than Bond, with hints of the
first Mission Impossible. I'm happy with that
description."

Asked about other projects and their acting friend,
Nick Moran.

Hurst: "I have a dark thriller I've written, that may
sneak in before we do Semper. As for Nick. It's
doubtful he even knows! But Ben's written a role for
him and is beefing it up and revising it some more as
we speak. If it does become a series, then his role
will be a constant and valued one."

Wednesday 8th October 2003: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
One of the Producers of Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus is seeking a
mid to late 20's Anglo Chinese actor, who can handle
himself with martial arts. They've been in
correspondence in the US, with Jason Scott Lee and
Robin Shou pencilled on their list, but an ideal would
be talent home grown. No shooting date has been set,
though early next year looks likely. Producer Ben
Trebilcook is the man to contact.

Thursday 2nd October 2003: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Just received word that the producers on Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus are aiming to sign former Bond Roger Moore as C the Director General of MI6. I've got it on good authority that the role was written with Moore in mind. In other casting they are looking at Danny Glover for the role of the Director of FBI.

Friday 26th September 2003: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Word reaches us that Ben Treblicook the writer on Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus has came on board the project also as a Producer and they are also looking at the possibility of casting Dagmara Dominczyk as as Agent Jo Mackenna.

Monday 22nd September 2003: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Bonny has been in touch with the following that sounds like a wild rumour "
Could it be true that Sean Connery is about to be wooed for
the role of 'C', the head of MI6 Heard a rustling that his Fountain Bridge
F ilms have been contacted with a proposal of a possible co-production. So,
in other words, nobody really gets paid apart from Connery, right Kelly
Brook is also expected to receive something large. No, not a bra, but
payment! Statham, too, has been rumored to be offered $2m. "

Monday 11th August 2003: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Bonny has been in touch with the following "Madonna/Maverick Films are unaware of Producers' attempts to lure her to Bond rival movie Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus, despite her close friends, Kelly Brook and Jason Statham, attached to it. Do friends not talk anymore?" Could it be they are being coy?

Tuesday 29th July 2003: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Now this is just in from a regular scooper "Discussions for villain number two, in Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus, are underway. Madonna is apparently being sought for the role of Federal Agent Jo Mackenna."

Friday 25th July 2003: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Ben Trebilcook has been in touch with some more updates on Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus

What's the status on Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus?
" Mike and I are ready to go on this.
It's just a finance issue right now I think and if the
casting is solid. It can go a couple of ways I think.
William Morris in LA have the script. If they take me
on and make a sale. Its likely its out of my hands.
What about The Sun going mad with the announcement of the movie?
The Sun love Kelly and I
think her and Jason are a fantastic couple. I rewrote
the SAS role for him. I do know some journos and I
guess once a journalist always a journalist. Always
after a story.
What's the story with the Kelly Brook dolls?
As for the dolls, I'd love to see a Daisy Norton-Hall
doll. especially a Kelly one. I'm in a load of talks
with a lot of different people, so we'll see how it
goes.
Any other casting news?
There's two more people on my wish list cast who I
haven't supplied to the producers yet. One is the
female villain and the other is an Oriental good guy,
who Kelly is protecting. The female I'm gonna try and
contact myself. I wrote this role in mind for her too
and if this particular person gets on board, i hope
the project doesnt spiral out of control as she is a
huge star and there is a loose link to Kelly, so who
knows. The Oriental character I had in mind is Robin
Shou from Mortal Kombat/Beverly Hills Ninja.

Monday 21st July 2003: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Bonney has been in touch again " Updating the Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus piece yet again. Director Mike Hurst and writer Trebilcook met with Gary Daniels in Cannes this year, though didn't manage to discuss the movie at all, chatting about Mexican soccer instead!
Apparently they arranged to watch a soccer game together in a local bar and
intended to discuss a role for Gary in Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus, but talk on the
movie never came about. Hurst is currently in LA and may eventually get
around to mentioning it to Gary personally. Olivier Gruner on the other hand
is more interested in flying helicopters in Hawaii, peeved at the same old
roles he's taken over the past years. Hurst states that .."smaller roles in
bigger movies, like Ray Park has proved, are the way for change." It's not
yet fully known who the big guns are behind this movie, though Buena Vista
had/are expressed interest." Thanks to Bonney!

Friday 18th July 2003: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Gary Daniels has refuted the rumour that he is involved with Semper
Occultus.

Thursday 17th July 2003: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Just received word that c
asting discussions are growing, with
Producer and director (Mike Hurst) laying down
characters for French kickboxer Olivier Gruner and the
UK's own Gary Daniels for spectacular martial arts
scenes to take place in Paris, along with a role being
reworked for actor/writer Nick Moran, as a lab tech.
Director Hurst, also a kickboxing champ, is keen to
have Roger Moore in the role of 'C', the MI6 Director
General who instructs possible lead Kelly Brook on her
mission... impossible.

Friday 4th July 2003: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Just received the following info on Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus "Saw your Bond 21/South Africa bite. I unearthed they've heard rival spy movie, Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus, in the vein of a 'female Bond', already has a scout in and around South Africa searching for
locations and wants to get Bond 21 off the ground first. Rumor also hints
that the two projects could be sharing the same D.O.P adn it seems to be a
race. Many LA Prods have said that despite Bond still making money at the
box office, its also very stale and its time for new blood.Re: Semper scribe: Trebilcook, is currently penning a book on the Cannes film festival." Thanks to Bonney!

Monday 2nd June 2003: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
Word reaches us that the much troubled development of Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus that was first of all developed as a vehicle for Sharon Stone and then Geri Halliwell is moving on again with word that Kelly Brook is the number one choice to star in the Bond rivalling franchise. Also under consideration for a role is Roger Moore as C the head of MI6. Jason Statham is being sought for a role as a corrupt SAS Commando. Directing is thought to be Mike Hurst who previously directed Baby Juice Express. Thanks to B for the scoop!

Monday 25th November 2002: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:

I received the following message from a spy who claims he works for 'one of the majors' out in Hollywood. Here he spills some information on the female spy movie 'Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus', a film that was earmarked as a possible vehicile for Geri Halliwell (aka Ginger Spics). Take it away 'C'.

Okay - the status is this: Geri Halliwell WAS associated with the project. She is not now. It's not Sci Fi - it is an action thriller in the vein of James Bond, but with a female central character, called Daisy Norton-Hall. Minnie Driver had the part written especially for her, though Cameron Diaz and Catherine Zeta Jones have expressed interest in it also.

The theme is human organ trafficking and is intended to be a franchise. Luke Goss has been mentioned as one of the bad guys - portraying an SAS commando-turned novelist (like your brit true guy, McNab) It is set in Spain, Paris, South Africa and a big climax in London. Former Bond Roger Moore is to be approached to play the head of MI6 with other bonds rumored to have parts written too. This is a true rival to the likes of Bond and Lara Croft.

Tony Scott has been linked to the project, but it is not official. Auroramedia Features in the UK are associated as have been Disney's Buena Vista and Casey Silver Productions. I have read an early draft of the script, though it had no cover - with no writer or address. it is kept in a safe. Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus means Always Secret in Latin and is the MI6 motto

Any questions feel free to write. its too early here at the moment.

Thanks to 'C'.

Friday 29th August 2002: Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus Update:
An update today on the rumoured Geri Halliwell spy movie, and it doesn't sound too hopeful with word that the producers think Geri's profile has slipped too much for her to generate enough hype for the movie. Word is that the producers are looking for someone else to star and that might be Rachel Weisz. The story of the movie has a female spy investigating thefts of organs that leads her to a dictator who needs the transplants.A rumoured director for Daisy Scarlett: Semper Occultus is Tony Scott.
