Rumours have Catherine Zeta Jones and Brad Pitt to star in the in development big screen version of Dallas. The script has recently been completed by Robert Harling with Robert Luketic attached to direct. Harling had this to say about the script "The story starts with Bobby and Pam meeting and getting married. It is reinventing the Ewing family as if they exist in 2006 when the movie comes out. talking about the possibility of an upcoming feature version and who would
play his old character. "They've been talking about Bruce Willis, which I

talking about a whole bunch of people, but I don't envy whoever plays it.
It's a hard character to improve on!”

Thursday 3rd July 2003: Dallas: The Movie Update:
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, its full speed ahead on the recently announced “Dallas” silver screen remodel. But John Travolta’s not going to be billionaire J.R Ewing as previously rumoured.
Nope, instead Travota’s reportedly lost out on the role to Bruce Willis.Oddly enough Bruce's the chap who played his son ‘Mikey’ in the “Look Who’s Talking” flicks, in addition to popping him on the can in “Pulp Fiction”.
To boot, Willis’s “Harts War” co-star Colin Farrell is in talks for the role of Bobby Ewing, and Jessica Lange is practising her hard-drinking act for the role of Sue Ellen. Larry Hagman – the original J.R – is pencilled in for the requisite cameo.

Saturday 12th October 2002: Dallas Update:
Regency Enterprises are planning on adapting Dallas for the big screen with the original producer of the show Dave Jacobs. Also producing are Michael Costigan. Jacobs had this to say "I like the idea of doing it for the 21st century, with a new cast. We've got a new take on it. It's a much bigger canvas today and it belongs up on the big screen. Before people would have been interested in who is screwing each other. Now it's the national crimes that are affecting everyone. The conflict is still about family conflicts, but the stakes are higher now. That's the thing that excites me about it."
