Danger Girl is a comic book character created by J Scott Campbell, that is best described as being a bit like Lara Croft with a bit of James Bond mixed in, full of big splashy images. Rumours of a movie began back in 1998 with word that New Line Cinema bought the rights for the character with the movie being produced by Gary Fleder for his production company Mojo Films alongside Zide-Perry Films. First up to be rumoured to be getting the part was Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell, she was rumoured for a few parts round about that time including Charlie's Angels but failed to get any of them.

Talk then went back to more constructive things to do with the movie as it was revealed that J Scott Campbell and Andy Hartnell who created the character were writing the first draft of the screenplay. J Scott Campbell had this to say about Danger Girl which explains why he was involved with converting the character "I always felt that with Danger Girl, I wasn't just drawing a comic book, I was storyboarding a high-adrenaline action movie. I guess a few people at New Line thought so too. This was always our ultimate goal for this project, but we didn't expect it to happen quite so soon."

Rumours then went back to casting again with Jenny Mccarty, Jada Pinkett Smith and Michelle Yeoh all rumoured to be interested.

Word then moved back to the script with Mark Swift and Damian Shannon both thired to rewrite J Scott Campbell and Andy Hartnell's first draft.

And that is as far as things have gotten so far. Word was that things slowed down as the studio decided to wait and see how Charlie's Angel's and Tomb Raider panned out. Well Charlie's Angels made money, and Tomb Raider is so very nearly with us, maybe we'll get some more word on this project soon?
