Ron Howard is to direct an adaptation of East of Eden by John Steinbeck, previously made into a movie in 1955 starring James Dean. Paul Attanasio is to work on the script with Brian Grazer producing for Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment. The story is about two generations of sibling feuds.
