Teresa has been in touch with the following info from the filming
of Elvis has left the Building "We live in New Mexico and
yesterday saw some filming on Elvis has Left the Building at
an old service station on central and 98th street, Albuquerque.
We chatted to one of the crew who said the film will be released
next summer. We saw Kim Basinger from a distance, the scene
by where she is driving a pink cadillac. "

Louise has been in touch with a report from the filming of Elvis
Has Left the Building "My husband, realtor, and I were
driving through the Cibola National Forest in the Manzano mountains
of New Mexico (East of Albuquerque) looking at horse ranch property
when we came around a bend and saw a large number of vehicles
along with ROAD WORK AHEAD...since I have experience working
in the Motion Picture Industry and have spent a lot of time
on sound stages, I knew they weren't going to be working on
a new road surface...this was a film shoot location! Turns out
that they were shooting the new Elvis film starring Kim Basinger
here, obviously because of its strong resemblance to the Tennessee
Smoky Mountains. We watched as they set up a scene with a little
girl who was playing Kim as a little girl. There was also a
pink Cadillac convertible in mint condition a little down the
road. Don't have any photos, but it was neat to watch them shoot!"

2nd October 2003: Elvis Has Left The Building Update:
Filming on Elvis Has Left The Building that stars Kim Basinger,
John Corbett, Angie Dickinson and Annie Potts has been filming
in New Mexico on a budget of $7.5 million. The movie will follow
a cosmetics saleswoman (Basinger) who travels from Tennessee
to Las Vegas, Nev., for a convention. Along the way she runs
into a series of Elvis impersonators and accidentally kills
them, with subplots of a romance with Corbett and a mid-life
crisis that has our cosmetics rep questioning her long-time
belief in the soul-redeeming power of lipstick. Filming will
continue until the middle of October.

Sean Austin and Annie Potts have been added to the cast to star
alongside Kim Basinger.

9th September 2003: Elvis Has Left the Building Update:
John Corbett and his My Big Fat Greek Wedding director Joel
Zwick are re-teaming for the comedy Elvis Has Left the Building,
which will also star Kim Basinger. Basinger plays a cosmetics
saleswoman whose every move seems to coincide with those of
Elvis Presley. After she accidentally offs a couple of Presley
impersonators, she goes on the run from the FBI and meets a
depressed ad executive (Corbett) who is at a personal crossroads.

Kim Basinger will star as a cosmetic saleswoman whose
life is strangely
entangled with Elvis Presley in Joel Zwick's romantic comedy
Elvis Has Left
the Building. The film, which starts shooting on September 15
in New Mexico,
is Zwick's first feature since My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Basinger
will play
the hapless Harmony, born during an Elvis concert and ever after
linked in
some way to the King. While on the road hawking lipstick, she
accidentally
kills a couple of Elvis impersonators and ends up on the run
from the FBI.
So, in an unlikely coincidence, does a depressed advertising
executive whose
path intersects romantically with hers as the pair head toward
the film’s
climax at an Elvis convention in Las Vegas.
