Weiss has been signed up by Fox Animation to
write the screenplay for their adaptation of
Emily The Strange. The big screen version is
thought to be live action with some animated
sequences. For those who haven't heard of Emily
she's a character created by Rob Reger in his
garage that started out as stickers, but grew
into a clothes line, books and comic books.
Think of her as Barbie for goth kids.

Twentieth
Century Fox has acquired rights to the character
"Emily the Strange" and will make
a feature film that mixes live-action with animation.
Emily the Strange is a rail-thin 13-year-old
whose clothes are as black as her hair and as
dark as the tone of her adventures. The character
was created by Reger in 1993.
