Looks like the Emperor Zehnder filming is getting delayed until October 2004, as the start date of October 2003 was looking like it was going to be missed. They couldn't start any later as the weather would make it impossible as that time of year is the mildest in Antartica.

Monday 14th April 2003: Emperor Zehnder Update:
Primal Fear star Richard Gere and director Gregory Hoblit have committed to
re-team on love story Emperor Zehnder. The film is centred on the true story
of Bruno P. Zehnder, who dedicated his life to photographing Emperor
penguins in the Antarctic, and his love affair with a New York-based doctor
who accompanied him on one of his photographic journeys.

News reaches us that Richard Gere has joined the cast of Emperor Zehnder as the lead role.

Emperor Zehnder tells the true story of penguin photographer Bruce Zehnder, hence the Emperor.

Rumoured to be directing was Stephen Frears, but he chose Dirty Pretty Things instead, so will he come back to this project after that?
