Will anyone actually go and see Exorcist: The Beginning after such a long, troubled and downright weird journey to our screens? Well, only you the viewer can decide at the US Box Office on 20th August. Me I'll wait for the Paul Schrader version when it comes out on DVD, I mean is there any contest between the writer of one of the greatest movies of the 20th Century Taxi Driver, and the director of fluff like Driven?

Word reaches us that Renny Harlin has completed the extra filming for Exorcist: The Beginning. Well, it's a bit turned out to be a bit more than extra filming as the entire movie has been reshot, with not a single frame of Paul Schrader's footage being used in his version. The reshoot has taken the same 13 weeks as the original. The script also had a rewrite by Alexi Hawley. Word has the footage being a lot more gross including revolving eyeballs, spinning heads and loads of projectile vomit. Three of the original cast didn't return for the reshoots Clara Bellar, Gabriel Mann and pop star Billy Crawford - are not likely to appear in the final version, since they didn't return for reshooting.

Merrin in forthcoming prequel Exorcist: The Beginning. "This film is about

and can't really get out of that. Towards the end, of course, something
happens and he eventually puts on his cassock again and goes to fight the

person gets possessed, a whole valley does." For a full set report and
