has signed up Renee Zellweger to star in their
remake of the Pang Brothers The Eye. The movie
is being directed by Hideo Nakata. The movie
has already had various writers having a go
at the script including Sebastian Gutierrez,
Ryne Douglas Pearson and Hillary Seitz. The
new version will relocate the action to the
US and will focus on a girl who sees more than
she would want when her sight is regained after
a corneal implant.

Hideo Nakata ("The Ring Two") has signed on to direct "The Eye" for Paramount Pictures and Cruise/Wagner Productions. It focuses on a blind woman who receives a cornea transplant. However, she starts seeing ghosts and premonitions. "The Eye" is an adaptation of the hit Hong Kong horror franchise.
