Justin Bartha ("National Treasure") has signed on to star in "Failure to Launch" for Scott Rudin Prods. and Paramount Pictures. He joins Matthew McConaughey, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Zooey Deschanel in the comedy about a thirty-something slacker (McConaughey). Bartha will play a friend of McConaughey's who becomes involved romantically with Deschanel's character.

in "Failure to Launch" for Paramount
Pictures and Scott Rudin Productions.

3rd February 2005: Failure to Launch:
Sarah Jessica Parker is joining Matthew McConaughey in "Failure
to Launch," a Paramount Pictures comedy. McConaughey will
play a thirty-something slacker who lives with his parents and
uses them as a way to avoid committing to a woman. Parker plays
the woman of his dreams whom he suspects may have been hired
by his parents to motivate him to take responsibility for his
life. Production on the film begins in April.

Matthew McConaughey is set to star in Failure to Launch for
Scott Rudin Productions and Paramount Pictures. McConaughey
will play a thirtysomething guy whose parents trick him into
meeting the love of his life in a bid to get him to finally
leave home. Tom Dey is to direct from a script by Tom Astle
and Matt Ember.

2004: Failure to Launch Update:
Paramount and producer Scott Rudin have picked up the comedy
pitch Failure to Launch by Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember. The
film's story revolves around a thirty-something man who continues
to live with his parents and uses them as a way to short-circuit
relationships. He falls in love with the woman of his dreams
and begins to suspect she has been hired by his parents as a
way to get him out of the house.
