Premise/Synopsis :tale
of a convicted sex offender (Woods) who moves to a small
town to live in obscurity after his release from jail.
However, when legally forced to register with the police,
the entire town quickly learns of his past. He becomes
a pariah overnight and is exiled from the community,
including the local church. When a compassionate pastor
(Slater) decides to minister to him privately, tensions
escalate and convictions are tested.

Just
received an email from Billy Maddox updating us with some
information for Fairhope, USA. The movie is being produced
by Carol Baum, Barry Katz and Brian Volk-Weiss with Billy
Maddox executive producing. He also let us know the tagline
for the movie "Is there a crime for which there can be
no redemption?"

10th December 2002: Fairhope, USA Update:
Director Harold Becker has signed up James Woods and Christian
Slater to star in a movie to be called Fairhope, USA. The
movie has been written by Anthony Di Pietro and will tell
the tale of a convicted sex offender (Woods) who moves to
a small town to live in obscurity after his release from jail.
However, when legally forced to register with the police,
the entire town quickly learns of his past. He becomes a pariah
overnight and is exiled from the community, including the
local church. When a compassionate pastor (Slater) decides
to minister to him privately, tensions escalate and convictions
are tested. Filming is planned for next Spring.
