We've just heard from a source close to the production of the
recently announced Far Cry game-to-film adaptation. The anonymous
tipster told us that writers Michael Roesch and Peter Scheerer
have signed on to the project. Both worked on the screenplay
for director Uwe Boll's Alone in the Dark. We also asked if
any actors were being considered for
the lead roles of John Carver and Valerie Cortez. The source
tipped that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Naomi Watts
are being eyed by the filmmakers, but neither have been approached.
Far Cry is budgeted at around $25 million and production is
set to begin in 2005."

24th February 2004: Far Cry Update:
Word reaches us that producer Uwe Boll has picked up the movie
rights to yet another computer game, this time it's called Far
Cry. The game hasn't even been released yet! The film will be
budgeted at $25 million dollars and hopes to begin production
next year.
