Latest updates on The Fast And The Furious 2

The Fast And The Furious 2 Updated :

Monday 16th June 2003: 2 Fast 2 Furious Update:
Just received the following info on 2 Fast 2 Furious "Ahead of the UK release of 2 Fast 2 Furious, the final reel of the movie has been cut to obtain a 12A certificate. Cinemas around the country have been sent a new final reel to replace the original one. The finale, as you'd expect is action packed but the cuts have meant the violence isn't as graphic as it was. Whether this interrupts the flow of the movie has yet to be seen but it looks like the filmmakers are just trying to cash in on the younger market. Lets hope we get an uncut version on DVD." Thanks to Jamie!

Thursday 12th June 2003: 2 Fast 2 Furious Update:
Director John Singleton has been talking about why sequel 2 Fast 2 Furious
is better off without Vin Diesel. "Thank God he didn't do the movie, because
now it's even more fresh and new,” he said. “I wouldn't have it any other
way, even if I had the choice. You see the combination of Paul Walker and
Tyrese. We've made a team now that if we wanted to go make another movie, we could take it to a whole other level."

Wednesday 11th June 2003: 2 Fast 2 Furious Update:
Eva Mendez has revealed she asked for a sex scene to be cut out of 2 Fast 2 Furious "There was a sex scene between Monica and Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker), which I asked to be taken out. It was on the houseboat. My character was already emotionally and physically involved with Carter Verone (Cole Hauser). Monica and Brian didn't really have time to establish something, so I thought it was not proper to have a sex scene."

Furious, for pulling out of the sequel, 2 Fast 2 Furious. "I thought we were
partners. It hurt my feelings," he said. "Once I stepped back, I realized

Monday 7th April 2003: 2 Fast 2 Furious 2 Update:
Vin Diesel has been talking to an American newspaper about why he didn't
star in 2 Fast 2 Furious. "It just didn't seem like a franchise film to me,”
he said. “Yes, I'd have made tons of dough, but for me that film just didn't
warrant a sequel. The first film introduced a subculture. I don't think you
can introduce something again. Luckily, I can make choices now.”

It has been revealed that Universal forgot to tell John Singelton that they had changed the title of The Fast and The Furious 2 until everybody else knew. They also messed up in announcing the title before they had bought the domain name for the movie. It was picked up by a sponsor for the movie SteetGlow Neon who were hired to install Neon in the cars for the movie. Sounds like a mess.

Thursday 2nd January 2003: 2 Fast, 2 Furious Update:
Over the new year break, i've received tons of emails telling me that the sequel to the Fast and the Furious has had its name changed to '2 Fast, 2 Furious'. That, and the fact that the
official site is now online with new stills from the film and an in depth synopsis.

Paul Walker returns as former cop Brian O' Conner, who teams up with his ex-con pal Roman Pearce (Tyrese), to transport a shipment of 'shady' money from Miami-based import-export dealer Carter Verone (Cole Hauser), while actually working with undercover agent Monica Clement (newcomer Eva Mendes) to bring Verone down. Ludacris, James Remar and Devon Aoki are also in the cast of this new adrenaline adventure directed by John Singleton (Boyz 'N' The Hood, Baby Boy) and produced by Neal Moritz (The Fast and the Furious, Sweet Home Alabama), with a whole new line of dazzling high-performance vehicles ready to burn up the screen.

2 Fast, 2 Furious is released in the summer.

Ludacris has been talking about his role in the currently filming Fast and the Furious 2 "I play a guy by the name of Ted, who is basically like the ringleader of this whole automobile circus. If anybody wants to race, he's collecting the money and he is getting things started. If you need the hook-up on anything, he's got it." Tyrese has also commented on Ludacris's role "Ludacris is gonna shock the world with his performance in this movie. I guess with music videos as well as just being a confident person just really pours over into movies ... He's got a really strong presence ... And he got a perfect character in this role. It will be big for him." Director John Singleton has been talking about the movie also "This isn't going to look like every Joel Silver movie from the '80s."

Monday 9th December 2002: The Fast and the Furious 2 Update:
Filmforce scored a great set report of the currently filming Fast and the Furious 2 "We were invited to the casting call for the movie in Homestead (Florida) because we have an official Civic for our website and so, being in on the performance stuff, we got the link. That was cool and we made sure to introduce ourselves as 'the Jamaican guys,' and basically tried to convince the assistant director that there was no way in hell they could film in Miami without Jamaicans in the movie... lol ...worth a shot. It turned out that two of the crew were from New York (the casting company is based in New York), and they actually knew about our website and put in a good word, so we were chosen. The pay sucked! We did it for the fun of being in the movie because those hours were long as hell... but the food was okay. It's really unbelievable that movies get made this way... we did almost twenty takes with us walking in the background from just point A to point B. We got to have girlfriends, some really sexy girls too, and they dug our accents (as always). The setup was for the start of the movie (I snuck a peek at the call sheet), and there is supposed to be a race. Ludacris walks out of his shop (with the Tiburon) and we get to bump fists with him (will be looking for that on-screen, hopefully) and then discusses the race. They need a fourth person so he gets to choose and calls the hometown hero, Paul Walker in the Skyline. Some chatting goes on and they get ready to race. Just before they race, Eva Mendes looks at Paul and then walks off behind the crowd. The driver of the S2000, the girl, had a horrible line... I mean, extras literally flinched when she said it. I am not going to reveal it though, I think I have blocked it from my memory after hearing it so many times. Overall, the experience was really cool! To top it off, they actually called us back to use our Civic for 3 days and asked if we minded if a stuntman drives it... but they always seem to be behind schedule so we will see if we get back on-set again. We met Paul Walker, Ludacris, John Singleton and Eva Mendes.... really cool."
