The Fast and the Furious 3 Based On:

The Fast and the Furious 3 Premise/Synopsis:
Follows the story of Shaun Boswell (Black), who has always been an outsider. A loner at school, his only connection to the indifferent world around him is through illegal street racing -- which has made him particularly unpopular with the local authorities. To avoid jail time, Shaun is sent out of the country to live with his uncle in the military, in a cramped apartment in a low-rent section of Tokyo. In the land that gave birth to the majority of modified racers on the road, the simple street race has been replaced by the ultimate pedal-to-the-metal, gravity-defying automotive challenge ... drift racing, a deadly combination of brutal speed on heart stopping courses of hairpin turns and switchbacks. For his first unsuccessful foray in drift racing, Shaun unknowingly takes on D.K., the "Drift King," with ties to the Yakuza, the Japanese crime machine. The only way he can pay off the debt of his loss is to venture into the deadly realm of the Tokyo underworld, where the stakes are life and death.

Talk of Vin Diesel agreeing a return to the Fast and the Furious franchise continues to gather pace. Co-star Paul Walker is keen to make a third movie and Diesel has reportedly met with producers to discuss the possibility of returning for another third installment of the action series. Walker said: "Nothing's definite, you know how this town works! But the sequel did really well and rarely do you see a sequel reach the success of the first one. We actually did much better, so I think we'll go back and do a third one, and we're hoping Vin will be on board. It will be great, me, Tyrese and Vin."

Monday 2nd June 2003: Fast and the Furious 3 Update:
Paul Walker has been talking about whether he will return for Fast and the Furious 3 and it sounds like he wants a bit more money
"Universal Pictures had an option on me for this sequel, but that's all over now. If there's a third one, they're going to have to negotiate with me"

Monday 19th May 2003: Fast and the Furious 3 Update:
Paul Walker may have ruled out appearing in the next Superman movie, but
he’s given the green light to a second sequel of The Fast and the Furious.
“I already have my franchise movie with The Fast and the Furious,” he said.
“It's wonderful the way fans react. Everywhere I go around the world, people
want to shake my hand or pat me on the back. They quote my lines from the
movie. That feels so good. That's why I did 2 Fast 2 Furious and why I'd do
a third if the fans want it, but I wasn't ready to commit to Superman in the
same way. I know if somebody had offered me Superman before I did The Fast
and the Furious, I wouldn't have thought twice."

FAST AND FURIOUS 3
Any talk of a “Fast and Furious 3” yet?
No – not yet – but I wouldn’t be surprised though. I had to do this one – they had the option on me, but I’m a free man now though. I’d still consider it, but I wouldn’t want to do it big like this one, I’d want to strip it down and do it really raw and bare. That’s what I would’ve liked to have seen this time around – but it didn’t work out that way. Still, it turned out well. I’ve got a pool of guys back home I’m trying to get into a screening for it – and if they don’t like it, I’m running! [Laughs]
