Michael has just been in touch with the following "
DreamWorks have announced some details about their upcoming movie based on Tecmo 'survival-horror' vid-games "Fatal Frame" and upcoming "Fatal Frame 2 : Crimson Butterfly" (set for November release).

At the recent 2003 Tokyo Game Show, writer/producer John Rogers announced he has signed on as producer of "Fatal Frame : The Movie". DreamWorks confirmed they are fast-tracking the project and finalizing the script -- a director will be announced shortly.

Rogers previously worked on "The Core," and is currently producing Warners "Catwoman." He was attracted to the project after hearing the film would stay true to its original theme, keeping the storyline set in Japan.

"I was attracted to the idea of doing a classic, old school haunted house picture," he said.

"By focusing, too, on cool Japanese cultural additions and different ghost `mythos' most North American audiences are unfamiliar with, we can do something unique ..." "

Friday 28th February 2003: Fatal Frame Update:
Writers Robert Fyvolent and Mark R. Brinker have been hired by Dreamwork SKG to write a screenplay that will be based on console game Fatal Frame. The game was developed by Tecmo who sold the rights to Dreamworks last year. The movie will follow a woman's search for her missing brother. This leads her to a haunted mansion, armed only with an antique camera that allows her to capture ghosts' souls that she can see with a sixth sense. The movie is being produced by John Rogers.
