6th January 2005: Fever Pitch Update:
Just whose dumb fuck idea was it to remake the rather wonderful
Fever Pitch movie that starred Colin Firth as this dumb crass
affair. And yes I haven't seen it, but come on Jimmy Fallon
taking the Firth role? Don't expect this to be anywhere near
as good as the other big screen adaptations of Nick Hornby book's
that High Fidelity and About A Boy were. I have no problem with
the moving the setting to America or even the change of sport.
But I do have a problem when the bad taste meisters the Farrelly
brothers look likely to butcher it. Don't expect me in the queue
on 7th October.

29th October 2004: Fever Pitch update:
The US adpatation of Nick Hornby's Fever Pitch has been refilming
it's finale at a Boston Red Sox game. The Boston Herald wrote
"Jimmy Fallon and "Tessie" gal Colleen Reilly
were spotted jumping up and down during the raucous post-party
in the infield screaming "They did it!" at the top
of their lungs. And in a bizarre case of art imitating life,
the Farrelly Brothers' cameras were rolling when the last out
was recorded and the Red Sox won their first World Series since
1918."

2004: Fever Pitch Update:
KaDee Strickland and Lone Skye have joined Drew Barrymore and
Jimmy Fallon in the cast of the US adaptation of Nick Hornby's
Fever Pitch. The Farrelly Brothers direct the story of Fallon
as a man obsessed with the Boston Red Sox and Barrymore as a
woman caught in the middle. Strickland and Skye would play Barrymore's
best friends. Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel adapted the script
for Fox 2000.

the novel by Nick Hornsby that starred Colin Firth. Fox 2000

to baseball, with the team being the Boston Red Sox.
Saturday
16th November 2002: Fever Pitch Update:
Looks like Fever Pitch is going to be delayed for at least a
year with the news that Director Shawn Levy who was attached
to direct Fever Pitch has signed up to direct Cheaper By the
Dozen that starts filming early next year. The script for Fever
Pitch that is based on the novel by Nick Hornby has been written
by Lowell Ganz and Babloo Mandell.
Friday
23rd August 2002 : Fever Pitch Update:
Gwyneth Paltrow looks to have decied on Nick Hornby book Fever
Pitch as her next role. She would take the role of the girlfriend
of a fan of the Boston Red Sox, and the shows more interest
in the Red Sox than he does poor Gwney. Those who have read
the book will know that the boyfriend obsessed about Arsenal
FC. So I think that's confirmation that the setting has moved
the same as High Fidelity. Director Shawn Levy is in talks to
direct, with the script having been penned by
Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel.
