7th December 2004: Flight of the Phoenix:
Twentieth Century Fox have brought forward the release of Flight
of the Phoenix to December 17th in order to be the only action
film of the season. Directed by John Moore and starring Dennis
Quaid, Giovanni Ribisi, Tyrese Gibson, Mirando Otto and Hugh
Laurie, Flight of the Phoenix is an action-adventure in which
a plane crash in a remote area of China leaves 10 people stranded.
Facing overwhelming odds and not sure if they will even be missed,
they must overcome a series of impossible challenges -- and
an incredible twist they never could have imagined.

The two images, which are the first seen anywhere, (well
that I know of anyway) of the recent filming of The Flight of
the Phoenix have just been sent in. The remake stars Dennis
Quaid, Tyrese, Giovanni Ribisi and a host of others.

News reaches us that filming on Flight of the Phoenix completed
in Namibia at the end of February, Namibia stood in for Mongolia's
Gobi desert.

30th December 2003 Flight of the Phoenix Update:
Hugh Laurie will star in the remake of the 1965 film Flight
of the Phoenix. John Moore will direct the action thriller for
20th Centuary Fox and it will also star Dennis Quaid, Giovanni
Ribisi, Tyrese, Miranda Otto, Tony Curran, Scott Michael Campbell
and Jared Padalecki.

21st October 2003: The Flight of the Phoenix Update:
The
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen star Tony Curran, who played
the
Invisible Man, has signed on for a supporting role in the upcoming
remake of
The Flight of the Phoenix. The 20th action-thriller, starring
Dennis Quaid,
is being directed by John Moore. The original 1965 film revolved
around a
plane crash in a North African sandstorm and the efforts of
the crew to
build a plane from the wreckage. The updated version represents
a
reinvention of the original with contemporary circumstances
set in the
Mongolian desert. Curran will play a mechanic recovering from
alcohol
addiction.

17th October 2003: The Flight of the Phoenix Update:
Jared
Padalecki is set to star in a trio of projects, including the
Fox
remake of The Flight of the Phoenix. Padalecki has already started
shooting
the Jeff Wadlow-directed indie Living the Life. The drama revolves
around a
group of boarding school seniors, one of whom spread an e-mail
virus hoax
about a serial killer. He then moves to the Chris Sarandon-directed
Moonlight Drive, joining Shawn Ashmore and Joanna Gleason in
the drama about
teens who bury the victim of a car accident and reap the consequences.
Next
he'll film a role in Phoenix, the remake of the 1965 film about
a stranded
cargo plane which stars Dennis Quaid and Giovanni Ribisi.
Tuesday
23rd September 2003: The Flight of the Phoenix Update:
Word is circulating that Giovanni Ribisi is in talks for a role
in The Flight of the Phoenix that will be directed by John Moore.
He would take the role of Elliott. Filming will start on October
20th in Africa. The movie is being produced by William Aldrich
and John Davis.

18th September 2003: The Flight of the Phoenix Update:
Giovanni Ribisi is joining Dennis Quaid and Jacob Vargas in
a remake of the 1965 action movie The Flight of the Phoenix.
20th Century Fox will begin shooting in Africa on October 20.
John Moore is directing.

29th July 2003: Flight of the Phoenix Update:
Director John Moore looks to have signed up Dennis Quaid to
star in the
remake of Flight of the Pheonix. The movie is being produced
by John Favis
at 20th Century Fox. Filming is thought to be starting this
October. The
original movie told the story of a group of men stranded in
the desert
after a plane crash and they build a ramshackle plane to escape.
