Peter Segal has been signed up by Warner Bros.
to direct Get Smart. Steve Carrell will star,
with the script by Tom Astle and Matt Ember.
The movie is based on the 70's tv show that
followed gormless secrent agent Maxwell Smart,
a spy for CONTROL, fighting the evil forces
of KAOS. The big screen version will move the
setting to today with CONTROL falling on hard
times and not getting the big government funding
other spy agencies, like the CIA, do.

Steve Carell ("Bruce Almighty") has stated that a remake of the popular '60s TV show "Get Smart" is in development. It will be set in the modern day, and the basic premise is that both CONTROL and KAOS have fallen on hard times and are not being funded by the government. They're not getting the same kind of funding as the CIA. They have one last mission to prove their worth.

The movie is being
