Saved By the Bell star Mario Lopez will headline The Goal, a
Brazilian soccer drama. Art Sims will helm and has penned the
screenplay that follows the heart-wrenching journey of Topone,
a young man who rises from the infamous favelas (ghettos) of
Rio de Janeiro to become the number one soccer player in the
world. During the Brazilian championship, tragedy strikes and
Topone is in danger of losing his soccer career forever, when
he is traded to the United States. Spike Lee and Paolo Sadri
executive produce.
