30th January 2004: The Gospel of Mark Update:
"The Gospel of Mark", with an estimated budget of
$15 million, is expected to shoot interiors this spring at Toronto
soundstages and exteriors in Spain, starring UK thesp Henry
Ian Cusick reprising his "The Gospel Of John" role
as 'Jesus Christ'. "John" earned a $16,000 per US
screen average and a respectable $400,000 through October to
November 2003. Toronto-based Visual Bible will again partner
with producer Garth "The Silent Partner" Drabinsky,
and "John" director Philip Saville.
John Goldsmith continues to develop the screenplay. In addition
to "John", Visual Bible has previously produced video
versions of "The Gospel of Matthew" and "Acts
of the Apostles" and intends to continue with their 'bible'
movie franchise, by shooting an incredible 66 feature films,
covering every book of the Bible by 2015 !
