Just received the following information on The Great Raid "Bruce Willis is not in the cast. All the actors including the POW went through a 10 day boot camp in the rain forest of Aus. With Capt. Dale Dye USMC. It was a smooth shoot the biggest problem was the flooding of the set from the rain that we had the POW camp was like quick sand, we fell behind 3 weeks. The second unit Director was Vic Armstrong, who is most well known for the Bind movie, he was great. I have seen parts of the film and it is shot very well with great acting especially Joseph Fiennes and James Franco" Thanks to Anon!

The writer of the novel that John Dahl's currently filming movie The Great Raid is based on has been talking about the movie, his name is William B. Brue, his novel was called "The Great Raid on Cabanatuan: Rescuing the Doomed Ghosts of Bataan and Corregidor" "The director and producer -- to my great delight, and their great credit -- are adhering meticulously to the straight story ... no more, no less, just like my book. It's pleased me and other vets because so many World War II movies in recent years have been presented as truth, and have been infested by inaccuracies ... featuring things that never happened".

Friday 4th October 2002: The Great Raid Update:
John Dahl's next movie will be called The Great Raid and will star Benjamin Bratt and Joseph Fiennes. The Great Raid is currently filming in Queensland, Australia. They will then move to Shanghai at the end of this month.
