Well,
I had heard that Larry and Andy Wachowski had been involved
with trying to make a V For Vendetta
Movie adaptation and then news popped in that they have shown
interest in this comic book adaptation as well.
Hard
Boiled is a Dark Horse Comic by Frank Miller and Matrix designer/storyboard
artist that tells the tale of Nixon a completely surreal story
in which you are never certain if he is a robot or what. The
script was extremely thin, and Miller basically just left
Darrow to create massive scenes of intricate design that were
packed with so mych detail and reference that the reader could
spend hours looking at everything going on in each frame.
All of it cool.
The
news we have of a movie adaptation is that Randy Stradley,
Dark Horse Comics is that Nicolas Cage has shown interest
in making a movie. Then news filtered in that the Wachowski
Brothers were involved too.
Then
from the mouth of artist Geoff Darrow slipped out the news
that there had definetely been discussion for a movie. He
then let slip that the Wachowski Brothers were interested
in it for themselves too.
Personally
I think there is very little in Hard Boiled to make a movie
out of. I seem to remember there only being about ten lines
of dialogue in each episode, so there would have to be a huge
amount of work done on the script, and how on earth any director
could attempt to convert Darrow's artwork I have no idea.
