The 1973 film The Harder They Come is to be remade with
Stephen Williams at the helm and Bryan Goluboff working
on the script. The New Line Cinema hip-hop version will
see a small-town singer setting out to make it big in
New York's rap scene and, in the process, becomes a
legendary outlaw.

New Line Cinema are developing a remake of the 1973
movie The Harder They Come. The original movie followed
an ambitious young singer who comes from a small town
and tries to make it in the music business. But as he
struggles to make it, he gets caught up in the criminal
underworld and becomes a legendary outlaw.
