19th October 2002: Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets Update: Daniel
Radcliffe has been talking about the upcoming Harry Potter sequel "I think
it's funnier than the first film. It's got more action in it. And also it's got
a lot more emotional depth, especially to Harry's character. And it's also a lot
scarier, a lot darker and a lot creepier. I think Harry's character is very different
from the first film. As he's developed, I've had to develop myself as well. I
re-read the second book, and I've now developed two instincts -- my instincts
and Harry's instinct. If I'm in a situation in the film, I think, 'How would Harry
react to this?', and so I try to bring that across onto the screen." Saturday

hero so in that respect he's a much stronger presence". Friday

Of Secrets. The

it out. In other Harry Potter related news, its seems that Richard Harris
may have to pull out of the third installment in the series. Harry Potter and
the Prisoner Of Azkaban may be sans Harris after he has been admitted to a London
hospital during last week with pnemonia. The IMDB
reports that the actor, who plays Professor Albus Dumbledore, had to be replaced
by a body double in numerous scenes for Chamber of Secrets because he felt so
ill. Warner Brothers executives will aparently decide next month as to whether
the actor will reprise his role in the third movie, which starts shooting in January
2003. if he is too ill, favourite to take over the role is unknown actor Harry
Robinson, 72, who is virtually a spitting image of Harris. "The producers
are not confident Richard will be well enough and have told Harry [Robinson] there's
an 80 per cent chance of him getting the part. He's already been told to start
practicing Dumbledore's distinctive deep voice." We wish Richard
Harris well and hope that he's fit to return for the third Harry Potter and indeed
the following four, all of which he has signed on to do. For the full article,
head on over to the IMDB. Thursday

Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets Update:
More news from the Gloucester Cathedral set of Harry Potter
& The Chamber of Secrets. It seems that the shoot is likely to go on for about
another week or so at the cities 900 year old cathedral. Security is still tight
as The
Citizen reports, "Whenever a fan gets close enough to take a picture
of Daniel, their view is blocked by the hands of security staff".
1/2/02:
Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets Update:
The Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets production
rolled into the city of Gloucester, England this week to film in it's famous Cathedral.
The original movie shot here back in October of 2000. The Cathedral's cloisters
double up for Moaning Myrtle's bathroom and the Hogwarts corridor scenes. Empire
Online reports, "Along with dozens of uniform-clad Hogwarts extras,
Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Kenneth Branagh, Richard Harris and
Dame Maggie Smith have all been seen wandering the cathedral's halls and, as word
has spread, children for miles around have been granted the day off school to
come along and see if they can catch a glimpse of the stars". Now, I
had a look around the Cathedral the last time the Harry Potter circus rolled into
town and security is so tight that i'd be surprised if anyone would see anything.
In fact our local newspaper The
Citizen posted a report that security guards are more visible that the stars!
If you want to check out pics of the various extras on set, check out The
Citizen's site. But still, it's excitng to think that one of the most popular
movie franchises ever is being filmed right on your doorstep!

July 2001:
Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets Update:
Before the first movie, Harry Potter & The Philosophers Stone is upon us,
Warner Brothers are already working on the second book from author JK Rowling.
Steve Kloves has already started work on the screenplay and says that Warners
are looking for a November 2002 release! Casting is still to get underway,
but Daniel Radcliffe is likely to return as Harry before his voice starts to break.
An actor that has hinted that he may feature in the film is Hugh Grant, as Gilderoy
Lockhart. Various internet news sites have stated that Pinewood will
be the place that most of the movie will be shooting and that Harry Potter 2 and
3 will be filmed back to back in order to use the actors from the first movie
before they grow too old. That shoot is hinted to begin in October of this year.
More news as it comes.
