For those UK based Harry Potter
fans who love to try and catch a glimpse of
Dan radcliffe et al filming Harry Potter need
not fear that won't be able to see Harry Potter
5 filming, as news reaches us today that filing
will take place in the Uk. And it will start
next february, and on a rumoured budget of $150
million!

Word reaches us today that Imelda
Staunton has been signed up to play Professor
Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order
of the Phoenix. Filming on the 5th Harry Potter
starts next year.

Rumour has it that Austin Powers star Elizabeth Hurley has
been offered a part in the fifth Harry Potter film as an evil
witch, most likely Bellatrix.

19th January 2005: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix:
It's official, Brit TV helmer David Yates is to direct the
next Harry Potter movie. The announcement was made today by
Jeff Robinov, President of Production, Warner Bros. Pictures.
"We've been fortunate to have worked with very talented
directors on the first four Harry Potter films," Robinov
said, "all of whom have brought these extraordinary stories
to life with their own unique creative vision. We're looking
forward to continuing that tradition with David Yates on 'Harry
Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.'"

Brit TV director David Yates will helm the next Harry Potter
movie. In the fifth book, by J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter is
faced with the unreliability of the very government of the
magical world and the impotence of the authorities at Hogwarts.
Despite this (or perhaps because of it), he finds depth and
strength in his friends, beyond what even he knew; boundless
loyalty; and unbearable sacrifice. Yates previously directed
the acclaimed State of Play.

17th November 2004: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
update:
Producer David Heyman of the next Harry Potter movie has stated
that series writer Steven Kloves will not return for the fifth
movie. Heyman will be working with Contact writer Michael
Goldenberg on Order of the Phoenix. The film is planned for
a Sumer/Autumn 2007 release. Director Mira Nair has apparantly
turned down the helmer's chair.

Warner have already got plans underway for the fifth Potter
movie with Monsoon Wedding director Mira Nair being offered
the director's chair. June 2007 is the targeted release.

Robbie Coltrane has been speaking about what may or may
not befall Hagrid in Harry Potter 5 'I know about what happens
to Hagrid, which is something author JK Rowling told me from
the beginning to help me prepare me for the part. There is
a death in the fifth book of a central character. But I can't
say more than that."

Update:
Ok this isn't actually movie news but it has been announced
today that the fifth Harry Potter novel will be released on
Saturday June 21st 2003! And what is interesting is that it
is fully a third larger than the last one, and that is so
big that it is rumoured to be being made into two novels,
so does this mean that the Order of the Phoenix will be made
into three movies?

16th November 2002: Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix
Update:
Looks like JK Rowling has finally finished the fifth Harry
Potter novel! It's coming in at 38 chapters and just slightly
longer than The Goblet Of Fire. So, as has been rumoured the
Goblet of Fire is so large they were going to have to make
it into TWO movies, will they have to do the same with The
Order of the Phoenix.
