More vocal casting has been revealed
for Ice Age 2: The Meltdown. Queen Latifah is
voicing Ellie, a woolly mammoth and potential
mate for Manny. Seann William Scott and Josh
Peck are the voices of two possum brothers,
Crash and Eddie. Jay Leno also supplies the
voice of Fast Tony, a shady armadillo.

John Leguizamo has revealed that Queen Latifah and Drea de Matteo ("The Sopranos") will voice characters in 20th Century Fox's "Ice Age 2: The Meltdown." Lequizamo plays the sloth and will sing in the film. de Matteo is playing his girlfriend who is a sloth, and Queen Latifah will portray Ray Romano's girlfriend who's a mammoth. The film is supposed to test in September and will be released on March 31, 2006.

Rumours are circulating that Ice Age 2 will be called Ice Age
2: The Meltdown.

Denis Leary has revealed that Ice Age 2 is go and that he has
signed on
"Truth is I said to these guys we should make the sequel
at the same time
we make the original,' he told us. 'But studios hate to spend
money until
they have a guarantee in their hands. So now they'll have to
pay twice as
much to get it done and it'll take twice as much time. But in
principle
we've all agreed that if it worked we'd all go back in. I think
there's a
story ? the people at Fox are working on one right now. I think
they're
talking about going back into the studios something around late
Fall. It'll
be the three of us, without the baby, obviously!"

7th November 2002: Ice Age 2 Update:
It seems that pre-production has already begun on the sequel
to this year's Ice Age. Director Chris Wedge spoke to Sci-Fi
Wire. "It's being written by Lowell Ganz and Babaloo
Mandel [Multiplicity], and it's being designed by William Joyce
[A Bug's Life]," Wedge said in an interview. "So it's
a real fun, big collaboration, and it's going to be a really
colorful, funny movie. It's not [science fiction]. It's a completely
fresh take on the world of mechanical people."

"Ice Age 2? It's coming up. Yup, were in talks right now.
I mean it was a huge hit, it was an unexpected hit for FOX that

window shut, locked it and now they had to get a crowbar and
open it up again. "
