Empire Online caught up with Mrs. Henderson Presents star Judi Dench who confirmed that she'll return in the role of M in the 21st James Bond installment, Casino Royale. "Yes of course. And I heard today that I'm not going to be in London. I'm going to get to go to Prague and The Bahamas," she said. "They're getting me out of my box. It's a whole film there. I'm very much looking forward to working with Daniel, but I've not even read a script yet. All I know is that we're due to start in February." It will be interesting to see how she'll again play M, since this film takes place much earlier in 007's career. Daniel Craig is taking over the role of Bond in the movie, to be directed by Martin Campbell (GoldenEye) for a November 17, 2006 release. Dench has played M in the last four Bond movies opposite Pierce Brosnan.

Please god, I hope this rumour
isn't true. If it is then don't expect much
subtlety from the next Bond villain. And what
am I on about? TV actor David Suchet is thought
to be up for a major role as le Chiffre in Casino
Royale. Le Chiffre is a Soviet agent who embezzles
and loses money earmarked for Communist operations
and must then win it back during a baccarat
duel with Bond. My concern is that Suchet is
well known for laying on the cheese when acting,
especially an over the top Poirot on TV.

Director Martin Campbell has been
letting some key details slip about Casino Royale.
And from what he says, a better title would
be Bond Begins, not Casino Royale. "He
has to mount a card game in order to win the
money back. Bond is sent in to make sure he
doesn't win," Campbell says. The 2006 version
eliminates the Cold War setting. Bond is teamed
with female agent Vesper Lynd, who later helps
him recover after he is brutally tortured. "She's
the one who forges him into the Bond that we
all know and love," Campbell says. "He
certainly falls in love with her, and it does
change him forever. It's a genuinely deeper
relationship. The film deals much more on a
personal level with Bond." There'll be
no Q, and it will also be revealed why he only
has one night stands, drinks martini shaken
and also drives an Aston Martin.

Ok, Bond still hasn't been cast
but it looks like the villain has been decided
for the next Bond movie. He will be played by
Gulshan Grover, it was revealed by the Times
of India. The actor apparently met with the
producers, who are waiting to announce his casting
until after they have announced who will be
Bond. Well if it's true, then they are too late.

TV Guide's Ausiello has confirmed internet rumors that ER star Goran Visnjic is one of the contenders for the role of 007 in Casino Royale, the 21st James Bond film which Sony is planning on releasing October 19, 2006. Yes, it's true. But should he get the role, it wouldn't mean the end of Kovac. "We have a contingency plan," says exec producer David Zabel. "We would film a bunch of stuff [with Kovac] at one time for later episodes. Or, depending on where the Bond film was shooting, he might be able to work on both at the same time. That's what [George] Clooney did. He was shooting Batman & Robin for part of the day and ER the other part."

Oh
how I do love a good Bond casting rumour, and
when there's one of these nearly every day,
then it keeps poor old me a happy bunny! Today's
piece of fluff has the race to fill the black
tux narrowed down to four different candidates
and they are Goran Visnjic (32), Henry Cavill
(22), Alex O'Lachlan (28) and Ewan Stewart (47).
If this is true it sounds like they haven't
a clue what they want for the role as all of
those vary HUGELY in age.

John Cleese has revealed the following, that if it is true, blows apart the traditions of the Bond movies so far "If I'm told that there is a Q, I will be Q…but unfortunately, I don't believe there's a Q in the current version of the script." And yes you read that right, at this moment Q isn't in the script for Casino Royale. Having said that, would it be that much work to make up that scene on the day of filming?

Thursday
18th March 2004: James Bond 21 Update:
looks like the Bond franchise is in a lot worse state than
was previously expected with what Pierce Brosnan has said
in a recent interview "That’s a good question,
Peter. I don’t know. We’re in a very opaque land
at the moment. I’m certainly willing to come back for
a fifth and final one. But I think the producers are certain
a kind of paralysis has set in. And they don’t know
where to go, how to go with this film. So if it happens, great.
If it doesn’t, I’ve done my four - the contract
was for four...We set a fine bar there with the last picture.
And from what I can gather from Barbara and Michael, they
don’t know what to do".
Tuesday
9th March 2004: James Bond 21 Update:
Empire (http://www.empireonline.co.uk)
have been talking to the writers of the next Bond movie Robert
Wade and Neal Purvis and they reveal they have started work
on the script "We started writing the new one two weeks
ago, so obviously all the cliches are already in place.mAs
far as we understand it, Pierce Brosnan is Bond. He’s
a great Bond and he gives you a lot to work with as a writer
because he’s very good looking. Seriously, he is very
good at suggesting an undercurrent of, you don’t know
what. He shows that there is a shadow on this man. I don’t
think there’s a more difficult task, of writing Bond.
It’s all been done. The twentieth film was harder than
the nineteenth. It’s very difficult to think of new
ways to blow things up! But character is the thing; it’s
finding new ways to explore the character."

3rd February 2004: James Bond 21 Update:
Be afraid, be VERY afraid. Britney Spears wants to be a Bond
girl in James Bond 21. She has apparently taken a meeting
with Bond producer Barbara Broccolli with a view to taking
a role in the next Bond. Sources close to Spears have apparently
quoted her as thinking she would be brilliant.
Monday 1st December 2003: James Bond 21 Update:
Today is definetely the day of wild rumours with the latest rumour being that Catherine Zeta Jones looking to get signed up as the next Bond girl. She has apparently asked Sean Connery's advice about whether she should go for it, and he has apparently advised her to go for it only if she gets to play a character equal to Bond. And the rumour gets even wilder as it even states she is thought to be being lined up for singing the title song. I give this rumour a credibility rating of zero.
Monday
27th October 2003: James Bond Update:
Clive
Owen has tackled the rumours about him taking over from Pierce
Brosnan
as James Bond. "That's exactly what they are, rumours,”
he said. "There has
never been anything substantial underneath them. It's reared
up so many
times now. I'll deal with it, I'll think about it, if it ever
becomes a
fact. I learned a long time ago in this game that there is
a lot of bullshit
and, if you worry about things that are not factual, you end
up wasting a
lot of time. If ever there is an official approach, or somebody
talks
properly to my representatives, I'll think about it. But,
until then, I read
what you read. No, no, no, no. I honestly do not think about
it." James Bond
21, starring Mr Brosnan, is targeting a November 2005 release
date.

that the
next Bond film will be his last. According to British tabloid
reports, movie
bosses will announce that Owen will take over the role, after
being
recommended by Brosnan.
Wednesday
27th August 2003: James Bond 21 Update:
Keira
Knightley is reportedly being considered for the major female
role in
the upcoming 21st Bond film, which is due for release in 2005.
Monday
11th August 2003: James Bond 21 Update:
Super scoop
Bonny has been in touch with the following info " Eminem
has apparently been approached by Bond Producers Brocoli and
Wilson to pen a tune to Bond 21. Mariah Carey was previously
sought, until
she demanded a role. Strange twist that Eminem should be ASKED
if he wanted to be in the flick." Interesting.
Thursday
7th August 2003: James Bond 21 Update:
Rumours are circulating that Mariah Carey has been
signed up to provide the theme song for Bond 21. Personally
I think it's utter rubbish, but we'll have to wait and see
I guess.
Monday
28th July 2003: James Bond 21 Update:
The following has just been sent in "It was confirmed
today that Jacob
Riley will be the producer of the next Bond movie" Thanks
to Ryan!
Monday
7th July 2003: James Bond 21 Update: Eon Productions have denied today
reports that Martin Campbell was in talks to Direct James Bond 21. Thursday
3rd July 2003: James Bond 21 Update: Rumours are circulating that locations
in South Africa are being looked at for Bond 21. Monday
23rd June 2003: James Bond 21 Update: Clive Owen has revealed that he
is not interested in taking over from Pierce Brosnan as Bond at all ""I
think it's too formulaic, too tried and tested and a little past it's sell by
date. I would not consider it to be a challenge. I've just come back from Los
Angeles where I had a meeting with Francis Ford Coppola who wants to cast me in
an exciting new project, which will be Bond-like but more challenging and relevant
today. I'm really excited about it."
Friday 16th May 2003: James Bond 21 Update: Ok, this doesn't relate
DIRECTLY to Bond 21 but worth mentioning in Bond context as Ewan McGregor has
been talking about the rumours he will take over as Bond when Pierce Brosnan retires
"I don't want to hypothesize as to what I might do if the offer came.
I'd have to wait until they actually approached me. I went through the same kind
of angst and decision making when George Lucas came to me for Star Wars. I think
playing Bond would be an even greater commitment. They turn them out closer together
than George does the Star Wars films and it appears to me that Pierce spends as
much time promoting those films as he does making them."

Monday 12th May 2003: James Bond 21 Update: Producer Michael G. Wilson
has been talking about the development on Bond 21 "As for Bond 21, it`s
not even a glimmer in it's mother`s eye. It's a matter of logistics, it takes
time to make these films and they get bigger and bigger, and they take more
and more planning... I reckon it would be at least three years from the last
film"

Friday 9th May 2003: James Bond 21 Update: Samantha Bond has revealed
at a convention that Pinewood has been booked for filming on Bond 21, but no date
yet as they are undecided if they will wait until 2007 for Pierce Brosnan's last
Bond role which would tie in with introducing a new actor into the role for the
50th anniversary in 2012.

Wednesday 23rd April 2003: James Bond 21 Update: Rumour! And yes I'm definetely
fiing this under rumour, is that Jonathan Rhys-Meyer is being considered to replace
Pierce Brosnan as Bond when Brosnan leaves the franchise. Can I say one thing
he's way too young at only 25 as Bond is a much older character.

Thursday 17th April 2003: James Bond 21 Update: EON Productions have denied
being in talks with Aishwarya Rai for a role in Bond 21.

Monday 7th April 2003: James Bond 21 Update: Top
Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai has reportedly been offered a lead role opposite
Pierce Brosnan in a new James Bond movie. The Asian stars secretary
confirmed that the former Miss World had been approached by a London-based
International coordinating agency on behalf of the studio producing Bond
movies. "It is too premature to comment, but the agency guys are in
town and they did mention that they were keen on discussing Aishwarya for
a Bond film, he said. The actress is presently recuperating in a Bombay
hospital following a freak accident during a film shoot in which she
sustained a hairline fracture to her foot.

Friday 21st March 2003: James Bond 21 Update: Word has reached us that
cigar lover Bill Clinton has been signed up for a role in the in development James
Bond 21.
 Thursday
6th March 2003: James Bond 21 Update: Rumours are circulating that James
Bond 21 is being planned for a December 2004 release date with filming starting
at Pinewood as early as January 2004. Original word had Bond being released in
2005.
Tuesday
10th December 2002: James Bond 21 Update: Will the 21st Bond be Brosnan's
last one as Bond? Brosnan has been talking about the possibility, indicating that
physically he may not be able to continue and his body will tell him when to stop,
"But the ego will probably never let me relinquish this role. Hopefully I
won't embarrass myself. Hopefully I will get off before that happens." Friday
6th December 2002: James Bond 21 Update: Rumours are circulating that
Director Tsui Hark is being considered for the director's hotseat for the 21st
Bond movie. Tuesday
5th November 2002: James Bond 21 Update: Casting rumour is that Kylie
Minogue and her sister Danni Minogue are rumoured to be up for parts in the next
Bond movie. Totally unconfirmed at this. lets call it a rumour. As we announced
ealier Pierce Brosnan will return as will Michael Madsen. Tuesday
5th November 2002: James Bond 21 Update: Ok, it's under three weeks to
Die Another Da so I guess it's about time we started talking about the Bond movie
AFTER that! And why? Well news reaches us today that Pierce Brosnan has answered
the speculation into whether he will return for another Bond, and the answer is
yes, this is what he had to say "The invitation has been accepted, I think
it has mileage to go another 20 years." More
