Kevin Connolly will direct a new Initial Entertainment
Group-funded drama,
written by Nick Cassavetes, based on the life of a San
Fernando Valley drug
dealer named Jesse James Hollywood. The drama revolves
around the drug
dealer who landed on the FBI's most wanted list for
the kidnapping and
murder of a teenager whose brother owed the dealer money.
The 15-year-old
was lured to Santa Barbara, where he hung out with the
drug dealer's
associates. The thugs then hit the youth over the head
with a shovel and
shot him nine times. One killer got the death penalty,
another a 25
years-to-life sentence. Hollywood is still at large.
The film will be
produced by Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio with
production set for
fall.

7th July 2003: Jesse James Hollywood Update:
Director
Kevin Connolly has signed on to direct a movie that is being
written by Nick
Cassavetes. The movie will focus on the real life case of
Jesse James Hollywood
who allegedly ordered the 2000 execution of
15-year-old Nicholas Markowitz
in the San Fernando Valley in retaliation
for an unpaid drug debt. The movie
is being produced by Tobey Maguire and
Leonardo DiCaprio.

A lot of new projects
are being announced at Cannes. First up is Jesse James Hollywood that will be
co-produced by Tobey Maguire and will tell the true tale of a teen led drug ring
in the San Fernando Valley who are on the run from the FBI.
