Tuesday 9th March 2004: Jinx Update:
Looks like teh Bond spin off Jinx is dead in the water. Empire (http://www.empireonline.co.uk) talked to the writers Robert Wade and Neal Purvis about it "We spent two months with Stephen Frears on it and it’s all down to the studio. Halle Berry was very happy, Stephen and the producers were happy and we were happy but the studio didn’t want to make it. It was going to cost $80-90 million and Charlie’s Angels and Tomb Raider hadn’t done well, so they didn’t want to risk it."

Wednesday 29th October 2003: Jinx Update:
Dark rumours are circulating that the real reason the Jinx project was axed was due to MGM being concerned that the project was too similar to two projects indevelopment, namely Catherine Zeta Jones's Grace Flint and Kelly Brook's Semper Occultus. Halle Berry is thought to have been furious at the decision to kill the project. Thanks to Anon for the heads up!

Monday 27th October 2003: Jinx Update:
Halle Berry will not be starring in a Die Another Day spin-off focusing on
her character Jinx. MGM has apparently nixed the planned movie, which was
due to be made before the next Bond film.

Monday 29th September 2003: Jinx Update:
Eon Productions have confirmed that a script is not yet complete for Jinx and no confirmation that Halle Berry has signed on and a decision on that could be a year away. Colin Salmon who was also rumoured to have been confirmed has not been cast either.

Tuesday 23rd September 2003: Jinx Update:
Rumours are flying that Jinx is being planned for a November 2004 release date and will start production immediately after Halle Berry finishes Catwoman.

Monday 12th May 2003: Jinx: The Movie Update:
Producer Michael G.Wilson has been talking about the rumoured Jinx movie
"MGM and ourselves and Halle thought it might be a good idea to make a
Jinx film, so we`re just kicking around some ideas with the writers, to
see if we can do something with that"

Friday 9th May 2003: Jinx Update:
Work is continuing on the rumoured Bond spin off Jinx with word that the script is ready and Halle Berry will work on once she has completed Catwoman.

Monday 11th November 2002: Jinx: The Movie Update
News has reached us that there may be spin-off from the 20th James Bond movie Die Another Day featuring Halle Berry's character Jinx. She was speaking to Zap2It when she revelealed the news. "If they ask me to play Jinx and continue on with this character -- I really love her -- and all that she embodies, I would do it in a heartbeat. I would just somehow have to work it out". Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli also commented on the plans, "There are talks about it, we are considering it” says Broccoli, Wilson says “She is fantastic in the role, we loved working with her, we’d love to do it more". Director Lee Tamahori also commented, "In a funny way I saw this coming when we started making it. We built her character up to strength and literally made her a female James Bond, there was no intention of franchise at that time...I could write and make the movie tomorrow for her, she’s an American version of Bond.
