Thunderbirds, now the entire works of Gerry Anderson
look ripe for
plundering. Next up would appear to be Joe 90, with
Disney apparently
prepping a live action film based on the thrilling exploits
of the
nine-year-old secret agent. Working for the World Intelligence
Network, the
nipper can be given the brain patterns of the world’s
greatest experts
thanks to something called BIG RAT (Brain Impulse Galvanoscope
Record and
Transfer) a nifty machine which transfers expertise
into an electronic
device hidden in a pair of black spectacles. Apart from
the realistic
puppets, the TV series was also notable for its funky
theme tune, which is
still regarded as something of a Northern Soul classic.
