7th March 2003: Kid Bang Update: Writer-director Kiran Ramchandran has finalised
a deal with Fox Searchlight
Pictures to write and direct the feature Kid Bang. The
project marks the
first short film to be culled from Searchlight's filmmaker
incubator Fox
Searchlab and put on a fast track to turn into a full-length
feature.
Described as being Moulin Rouge meets 8 Mile, it centres
on the world of
underground dance competitions. There is no start date
yet, but Searchlight
is said to be keen on making the film in the near future
once the script is
approved.
