According to Variety, Sony Pictures is in talks with Marvel Entertainment to develop comic book character Killraven into a sci-fi film. The story is set in a future where mankind has been enslaved by an alien race. A man who, though born in captivity, rises through gladiatorial combats to become the leader of a group of revolutionaries. His warrior-slaves, called the Freemen, team in an effort to force the invaders off the Earth. Sony is in discussions with Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan ("The Kentucky Cycle") to adapt the 1970s comic book series. Marvel Studios' Avi Arad would produce the film, along with Angry Films' Don Murphy. Kevin Feige of Marvel would executive produce.
