Ioan Gruffudd has revealed in an interview with the BBC that
there is NO love interest between Lancelot and Guinevere in
the movie "Unfortunately, as in the old legend, there isn't
an affair between Lancelot and Guinevere, the relationship is
between Arthur and Guinevere, I'm gutted about that. There are
no red hot scenes. I only have two or three scenes with her
and our characters argue through most of the film."

Clive Owen has been talking about the upcoming King Arthur. "It's a new take
on the whole King Arthur story, unlike anything you've ever seen before," he
said in a recent interview. "What I didn't realize is that King Arthur is
actually a myth which developed over hundreds of years and has been slowly
pieced together. There's this sort of romantic vision of Arthur. Our version
is set earlier than it's usually set. We have it at 500 A.D. as opposed to
medieval times. Basically, the Roman Empire is crumbling.” He went on: “I
play Arthur, who is half-Roman. He's a commander of a crack team of military
knights who, at the beginning of the movie, gets the mission from hell. To
go into dangerous, unknown territory and rescue a family as the Saxons are
invading by the thousands, and the rebels are out there fighting. Meanwhile,
Arthur has always held onto Rome as something he wants to return to and
something he reveres, but it keeps changing."

of the Knights of the Round Table in Disney's forthcoming epic, King Arthur.
Clive Owen will portray the title character (opposite Stephen Dillane as
Merlin) and now offers are said to have been made to Ray Winstone as Bors,
Hugh Dancy as Galahad, Til Schweiger as Cyrnic, Madz Mikkelson as Tristram
and Charlie Criptmiles as Ganis.
Friday 7th March 2003: King Arthur Update:
Director Antoine Fuqua has been talking about his soon to be filming King Arthur "I don't want to p*** anybody off but it's going to be edgy! This is Arthur before Camelot. It's before he became the king so it's going to be a much more realistic version of what Arthur really was about, much more human. We're going to have thousands and thousands of Saxon warriors and big battle scenes like "Braveheart " and "Gladiator". I think choreography and horses and safety are going to be the biggest headache! It's a fantastic project to do. It's a dream to make a big epic film about a great legend"
Friday 7th March 2003: King Arthur Update:
Casting news on King Arthur with news that Stephen Dillane is in talks to sign up as Merlin.
Thursday 6th March 2003: King Arthur Update:
Clive Owen will play King Arthur in a Disney film of the same name. The
movie is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and will be directed by Antoine Fuqua, who made Training Day. Stephen Dillane, who played Leonard Woolf in The Hours, is being linked with the role of Merlin. The film will tell the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table from a realistic viewpoint, taking in political and social intrigues, and will not focus as much on the magical elements of the tale. Shooting is set to begin in the spring.
Monday 24th February 2003: King Arthur Update:
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer is rumoured to have signed up Clive Owen to star as King Arthur in the production that will start filming this Spring in Ireland under Director Antoine Fuqua.

Tuesday 8th October 2002: King Arthur Update:
More information has came in today about the in development King Arthur project that Steven Speilberg is developing. And apparently we are not getting a Round Table, Excalibur, Lancelot, Merlin or any Knights! The writer of the project Devid Leland had this to say about why "I am not interested in mysticism. I am not setting out to create magic. There's no point in making this film unless you get under the skin of it and to the reality as it would have been at that time" The project is budgeted at $85 million for HBO. They are even changing the name of Arthur to Artos who becomes King due to his forging skills as a blacksmith.
Friday 4th October 2002: King Arthur Update:
Looks like Steven Spielberg has been scouting locations for his rumoured King Arthur project. He was spotted in South Wales at a little village called Crickhowell and he was overheard saying that the location was perfect for a medieval setting.
Another King Arthur movie is in the middle of being prepared. Now what on earth can anyone else do with a King Arthur movie that hasn't been said or done before? Well this movie is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and was at one stage going to be directed by Michael Bay. So expect a huge effects driven extravaganza. Entertainment not art.
Bay dropped out of the project and instead opted for Bad Boys 2 so no doubt some word on a director for this project will be along anytime soon.
