2004: The King Update:
William Hurt has replaced Sam Shepard in The King opposite
Gael Garcia Bernal. In the ContentFilm Hurt is to appear
as a Baptist pastor whose life and new family are thrown
into turmoil by the reappearance of his long-lost son
(Garcia Bernal). Laura Harring plays his wife, Pell
James and Paul Dano are their teenage children.

2004: The King Update:
Daryl Hannah has dropped out of James Marsh's The King
and been replaced by The Punisher star Laura Harring.
The story centers on 21-year-old just out of the Navy
(Gael Garcia Bernal) who tracks down the father he never
knew (Sam Shepard) only to find him as a pastor of a
thriving Baptist church in Corpus Christi, Texas. With
a beautiful wife (Paul Harring) and two perfect kids,
the pastor wants nothing to do with his lost son. Milo
Addica pens the script.
Friday
30th January 2004: The King Update:
Director James Marsh has signed up Daryl Hannah, Paul
Dano, Gael Garcia Bernal and Sam Shepard to star in
The King. Filming on the movie will start in Texas this
March.The script has been written by James Marsh and
Milo Addica and is being develped by ContentFilm.

22nd January 2004: The King Update:
Director James Marsh has signed up Gael Garcia Bernal
and Sam Shepard to star in The King that is being produced
by ContentFilm. Filming will start in March in Texas.
The movie will follow a dysfunctional young man who
returns home after being discharged from the Navy to
seek out his estranged father (Shepard), a pastor living
in Corpus Christi with his new family.
