Premise/Synopsis:
The original anime feature
follows Sawa, a young woman orphaned following the murder of her parents and
then taken off the streets by a crooked, Svengali-like detective who employs
homeless children to do his dirty work. Trained as a killer, Sawa exacts
street justice against the detective's chosen targets until she is able to
break free of the abusive, manipulative control he has over her.

Tuesday 20th January 2004: Kite Update:
Kamran Pasha has been signed up to write the script for director Rob Cohen's Kite remake. The original told the tale of a young woman named Sawa who is taken off the streets after the murder of her parents by a Svengali-like detective. The man, who employs homeless children to do his dirty work, forces her to kill his chosen targets until she is able to break free of his control. The movie is being produced by Anant Singh, Rob Cohen and Brian Cox at Distant Horizon.

Monday 7th April 2003: Kite Update:
Director Rob Cohen will reportedly be directing and producing a live-action
version of the Japanese anime cult classic Kite. The original anime feature
follows Sawa, a young woman orphaned following the murder of her parents and
then taken off the streets by a crooked, Svengali-like detective who employs
