3rd March 2003: The Last Crew Update: Just received the following information on the prequel
to Abel Ferrera's King of N.Y. that will be called The
Last Crew " The films scheduled to star Mark
Wahlberg as the young Frank White, (originally played
by Chris Walken), Gretchen Mol from Rounders,
the excellent Drea de Matteo from The Sopranos,
a possible role for talented young actor Omar Epps,
score by P-Diddy (who may also make a cameo appearance
in the movie) and penned by the fantastically disturbed
Nicholas St John (The Addiction).According
to the International Internet Abel Ferrara Library:
the director states that he wants to explore
the "King´s" background, his youth and
how he ended up in jail for the first time. The
movie was going to be set in the 70s with the
future mob boss hitting the N.Y. club scene, meeting
celebs in the Forrest Gump style, dealin
drugs, shootin guns and generally causing an almighty
ruckus in the Tony Montana style." Thanks to K.A.!
