Dreamworks Pictures has signed up Robert Rodat to write the screenplay for their adaptation of the book by Thomas Mullen called The Last Town on Earth. The book follows the inhabitants of a small rural town in 1918 that reels when a self-imposed quarantine fails to keep an influenza epidemic at bay and the foundations of life and mortality come apart at the sea.
