Monday
8th March 2004: Lemony Snicket Update:
Jim Carrey has been talking about Lemony Snicket "Oh
man, its so much fun. Its such a different way to tell a children's
story, its very original," he says about the film. "And
it's an opportunity for me to show up as this crazed thespian.
He's an evil thespian, which is redundant actually... I was
not aware of the books before, they asked me to read these
books and I did. I thought it was a really original voice.
For me it's an opportunity to have fun and throw on disguises
and make these characters. One of the characters, we were
planning on doing a completely different character, he had
an Italian accent. I had everything worked out, the character's
name is Stephano and they put the wig on me in the make up
chair like 5 minutes before they were going to test this character
and the wig had changed and I said it's not that character
anymore. And they put this mustache on and it was all the
elements of this character but they have been altered in a
way and I said it's not that guy anymore. [Director Brad Silberling]
came into the trailer and said, 'what do you mean he's changed?
Who is it?' And I started speaking like the guy who belonged
to the hair and that's where the character came from, literally
5 minutes before we started and it just kind of blossomed
from there, they are really good with me improvising."

Monday
10th November 2003: Lemony Snicket Update:
Baudelaore has been in touch with the following "Jennifer
Coolidge will play white-faced woman #1.
According to casting documents FilmJerk.com has received,
which are used by agents to submit their clients for possible
auditions, the five roles sought include:
Hook Handed Man: Scowling, sarcastic, and rough around the
edges, he's Count Olaf's chief henchman, and does whatever
ever it takes to please "The Boss." He sometimes
wears fake hands to cover his deformity, as he has hooks for
hands.
Bald Man: As nasty as his fellow henchmen, he acts as Olaf's
fawning manservant and also the master of ceremonies and stage
manager of Olaf's theatrical productions.
White-Faced Woman #1: A henchwoman and Olaf's maid. One tough
broad, she is as deadpan as she is nasty, except when it comes
to Olaf, whom she coddles. Always seen with her white-faced
counterpart, she loves to gamble and torture the Baudelaire
children.
White-Faced Woman #2: Olaf's other henchwoman and #1's sidekick,
she's nasty, but agreeable, reiterating whatever her fellow
white-faced cohort says.
Henchperson of Indeterminate Gender: Perhaps the most comic
of the henchpeople, and extremely large, we never realize
if this henchperson is male or female. She/he sports several
ridiculous disguises, dances and sings, with unintelligible
glee."
