6th January 2005: Lords of Dogtown Update:
Catherine Hardwicke really did choose the ideal project
to follow up her rather wonderful debut movie Thirteen with
when she chose Lords of Dogtown. A tale of loafer kids creating
the cool skating craze really does have cool stamped all over
it. And for those who saw the excellent documentary Dogtown
and Z Boyz then you'll know what to expect with this seeing
as how this is the fictionalized story of that documentary.
Oh and it's written by the writer/director of that movie Stacey
Peralta. make sure and catch this when it's released in the
US on 10th June.

Catherine
Hardwicke is in negotiations to rewrite and helm the Columbia

is a fictionalized version of the documentary and is based on
a Spin

It follows a
group of young California surfers who take their style to the
streets as
skateboarders, thereby launching a whole new sport which defined
a
generation. David Fincher is producing the project along with
Art and John
Linson.
