Wednesday 11th May 2005: Movie News: Madea's Family Reunion: Item Posted by: Loretta Francis: Blair Underwood, Boris Kodjoe ("Soul Food"), Henry Simmons ("NYPD Blue"), Lynn Whitfield, Jenifer Lewis, and Tangi Miller ("Felicity") are set to star in "Madea's Family Reunion". Tyler Perry will play three characters: Madea, Uncle Joe, and Brian. Also, Perry will make his directorial debut. Filming starts in July and revolves around a pistol-happy grandmother named Madea (Tyler Perry). She tries to hold a family reunion, a funeral for her sister, and a wedding for her granddaughter all on the same weekend.

Wednesday 13th April 2005: Movie News: Madea's Family Reunion: Item Posted by: Loretta Francis Blair Underwood will star in writer Tyler Perry's "Madea's Family Reunion," which Lions Gate Films will release on February 24, 2006. Perry ("Diary of a Mad Black Woman") reprises the role of Madea, the gun-toting grandma, who tries to hold a family reunion, a funeral for her sister, and a wedding for her granddaughter all at the same time. The film is based on Perry's 2002 play and begins filming in July.
